What is a hot desk vs private desk?
Whilst a hot desk is ideal for ad hoc or flexible use, some people may want a more permanent space, and that is where a private desk can be useful. Hot desks are charged on a daily or weekly rate, but private desks are charged on a monthly, rolling contract. If you are likely to use a desk for more than 3 days per week, a private desk could be more cost effective.
If you want a permanent base but don’t have the budget or need for a private office, a private desk is the solution for you. This gives you the comfort of knowing you have a dedicated desk that no one else can use. Not only does this bring consistency to your working day, but you’ll also benefit from having a productive environment that conveniently allows you to securely leave things like documents and your laptop in situ.
The sort of businesses this solution is likely to suit is one person companies that need an office to work from or a registered address to give their business a professional image. However, private desks can also be a perfect solution for people who work as part of a bigger company or network, but work away from their office.
At The Hub and Spoke, our private desks and hot desks all come equipped with Wi-Fi, standing desks screens and connection cables; however, our private desks have the added bonus of having free access to our meeting rooms and a 10%-member discount across all products in our café.
